Diner City

"A lot of potential"

submission: Diner City
date: October 27, 2009

however, there's still some work needs doing.Level 3 day 2 needs slowing down slightly or the path rerouting - as it currently stands it is impossible to fully fleece all your customers and get the much-needed $50 bonus.

Furthermore, the computer gets a potentially unfair advantage in that paths from secondary restaurants can route to it's primary restaurant, meaning that a £3000 expenditure here coupled with a well upgraded primary restaurant effectively doubles the usefulness of the primary restaurant regardless of the condidtion of the secondary restaurant, whereas the human player needs to upgrade their secondary significantly to cope.

(Note that the above comments are for me playing the Sushi campaign - haven't tried the greasy spoon yet).

"Almost, but not quite"

Definitions a little off? I'm trying to figure out how "teats" is a type of government!

Mostly they're accurate, but this really needs to be fixed before it becomes a decent game.

Author's Response:

I think the word it had chosen in that instance was "state".

I had complaints from people who typed in valid words but weren't what the computer was expecting, so I changed it to let them through. Your experience is the flip side of the issue. ;)

Thanks for your feedback.

Drop the Bomb (Medals)

"Potentially good idea, but seriously flawed"

date: June 23, 2009

It's very US-centric. Every time I think I'm getting somewhere, some weird question requiring you to know a lot about the US comes up and I'm stuffed.

Try and get some more generalised questions about several countries, and cut the deeper knowledge ones.

Author's Response:

I think learning about the world around you (the entire world) is interesting enough. Sure, there's plenty of NBA questions, but I've seen NBA scholars in the Philippines. Deep in the jungle, natch. So, I think that the questions are fine.
